Amazon is seeking a talented and motivated Sr. Mechanical Designer to work on system architectures, product design, and roadmaps. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in system architecture, system design, complex mechatronics, possess good communication skills, and lead system and subsystem architecture definition. This candidate must have the ability to work well both independently and in a team setting. This candidate must be able to drive progress from full ambiguity to product design and release to production.

• Owning the delivery of robotic products on time, in budget and at the targeted performance
• Scoping, managing, and delivering multiple technical projects in parallel from concept to production
• Work with an interdisciplinary team to improve and maintain existing product designs including specification, design, prototyping, validation and testing
• Work with the Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Quality organizations as well as vendors to ensure a smooth production transition of design changes
• Write requirements and functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures
• Exhibit role model behaviors of thorough engineering analysis
• Mentor colleagues Basic Qualifications: - Knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD experience and understanding of best practices for part design, and advanced assemblies

- Experience identifying, maintaining, troubleshooting, and modifying Motor Controls including motor starters, Variable Frequency Drives, DC drives, and standard electrical components - Experience with precision torque, measurement and inspection devices (i.e., automated and manual torque wrenches, calipers, micrometers, profilometers, optical inspection devices, multi-meters, torque wrenches) - Experienced with structural analysis )FEA= Preferred Qualifications: - Experience developing products for large volume production - Experience developing and testing mechanical robotics equipment - Experience developing products for volume production - Proficiency with Agile Product Lifecycle Management PLM software and ECO’s
