Short Description

The Robotics Application Engineer plays a key role in delivering robotics solutions using OMRON’s innovative products and Services. This role involves solution designing, proof of concept development for OMRON’s value added solutions such as mobile manipulators, collaborative palletizers, and support service business. The position supports successful deployments in advanced manufacturing environments such as semiconductor and other high precision industries, global customers in the key Automotive industries .

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the design, validation, and deployment of collaborative robotics solutions, including mobile manipulators, cart transporters, palletizing and depalletizing systems, precision assembly and handling applications, and other advanced automation solutions.
  • Provide hands-on application engineering and field deployment support, including system setup, integration, testing, commissioning, performance optimization, and on-site troubleshooting to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Strengthen the service support business by delivering lifecycle technical support such as preventive maintenance, system diagnostics, upgrades, retrofit implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability, uptime, and customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute actively to hands-on service activities, supporting customers in resolving technical issues, minimizing downtime, and ensuring operational continuity through responsive and effective service execution.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve application software, system configurations, technical standards, and documentation to enable scalable, repeatable, and serviceable robotics deployments across multiple customer environments.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, product management, and engineering teams to support customer projects throughout the full lifecycle — from solution concept, technical proposal, and validation to deployment, after-sales support, and long-term service engagement.
  • Lead customer technical engagements, including solution demonstrations, proof-of-concept (POC) validation, training, and technical presentations at customer sites, trade shows, and industry events.
  • Support the growth of recurring service revenue by identifying service opportunities, maintenance contracts, spare parts planning, and system optimization services aligned with customer operational needs.
  • This role offers strong opportunities for technical solution development, cross-functional collaboration, and overseas exposure through regional project and service engagements.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering 
  • Proficiency in programming languages (like C#, python)
  • Minimum 2 years in Industrial Automation/ Robotics deployment
  • Hands-on experience in operating and troubleshooting robots
  • Exposures to AI, Data Science, and Machine Learning algorithms
  • Able to understand electrical circuits and implement them
  • Able to read CAD and make minor changes
  • Autonomous Mobile Robotics knowledge
  • Basic expertise in Industrial Robotics, and automation solutions
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Self-Motivated and adaptive to changes with a positive attitude
  • Able to work independently and as a team
  • Able to handle day-to-day tasks with little or no supervision
  • Expected to travel (30 - 40) % of the time, mainly within the APAC region
