About this Job
Engineering Technician Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and design support
- Assemble and construct system assemblies.
- Conduct tests and debug electronic or electrical systems.
- Provide and/or expedite project documentation.
- Assist with organization, checking documentation for new equipment.
- Assist in production and/or manuals for new equipment.
- Requisition of parts and/or materials for projects.
- Prepare drawings and/or sketches, BOM (Bill of Material) list.
- Review and correct documentation for projects.
- Maintains and upgrades testing equipment.
- Repairs and troubleshoot electronic, electrical, and/or mechanical equipment.
- Technical support for mill and field equipment.
- Programing/debugging of the PLC and HMI systems (Allen Bradley and Siemens).
- Programing/debugging of AC/DC drives.
- Perform specific work-related tasks as assigned.
- Comply with all NOV Company and HSE procedures and policies.
Job Requirements:
- 2-year technical degree and/or experience in the related field.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of technical ability.
- Ability to solve complex problems and to relate to technical knowledge to specific applications.
- Experience with PLC programming (Allen Bradley and Siemens).
- Domestic and some international travel.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
- Must be able to stand in uncomfortable positions for some periods of time.
- Must be able to work in varied weather conditions
- Must be comfortable getting dirty, and/or working in contaminated areas.
- Must be comfortable working at heights/manlifts.
- Valid driver license
- Willing to travel as needed (less than 20%)
