Job Summary:
The Core Embedded Software division is seeking a leader to fill the position of Engineering Manager for the Platform Software section. This position provides people and technical leadership for a team of about 20 Cat and Agency team members located in Mossville, IL along with providing product line direction for global resources. This position manages an annual global budget in the range of $6M to $7M. This team has responsibility for delivery of FPGA & board support package software for the electronic control modules utilized across the breadth of Caterpillar product lines. This position will interact regularly with systems teams & managers to focus on clarifying requirements & system integration impacts, optimizing controller performance, and ensuring proper validation of the software.
Job Duties
- Leadership of the Platform Software section
- Provide people leadership, drive career development, and act as a mentor for a diverse multi-functional team
- Lead the global work group to meet clients’ objectives for delivery of FPGA & Platform Software
- Collaborate with and communicate results to the Machine & Engine Systems teams
- Work with members of the Senior Technology Leadership Forum (STLF) to prioritize information related projects that will benefit the Caterpillar enterprise
- Work with Cat Electronics Chief Engineers, Tech Stewards, clients, and process partners to develop roadmaps and strategies for Platform Software
- Manage staffing and delivery execution across numerous ECM platforms in alignment with sponsor affordability

**Customer/Market Focus:**Understanding ofthe importance of remaining aware of shifting market priorities and ability to respond to internal and external customer needs in a manner that consistently adds value.
Consideration for top candidates:
Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering or Computer Science curriculum
15+ years of engineering experience, in roles of increasing responsibility
Electronics systems, hardware, or software development experience
Experience with the New Product Introduction (NPI) process
Supervisory and global team leadership experience
Demonstrated strong technical and analytical skills

- This position requires the candidate towork full-time at the Mossville, IL office.

Summary Pay Range:
$159,120.00 - $238,680.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location,job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
