The Autonomy Growth Strategy Specialist will run the business system behind the internal/external opportunity discovery process and translate those insights into financially grounded recommendations (NPV/IRR scenarios, alpha identification, and) that leadership can act on. This position is built for a high-performance operator who thrives under pressure, brings structured thinking to ambiguous problems, and can coordinate cross-functionally to drive outcomes at enterprise scale.

What You Will Do:

Strategic Finance & Market Translation (Embedded in the Gameboard)

  • Build structured financial analyses (NPV/IRR, scenarios, sensitivity ranges) to estimate value creation, strategic option value, and downside risk.
  • Identifying alpha for customers and shareholders, alpha under risk, and opportunities to safeguard customer value across CAT technology informed by prioritized financial lifetime value for the customer and ecosystem
  • Develop recommendations for leadership: clear investment theses, payoff logic, execution dependencies, and recommended next actions.

Cross-Functional Execution & Governance

  • Drive alignment across strategy, engineering, product, partnerships, and corporate venture to move priority opportunities from “interesting” to “executed.”
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to maximize value from partnerships and ensure outcomes are measured and reported.

What You Have:

  • Influencing Through Expertise: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to use these to deepen own expertise and impact or challenge decisions within and outside own organization.
  • Strategic Thinking: Knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.
  • Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
  • Communicating Complex Concepts: Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques to ensure clear understanding; ability to use summarization and simplification techniques to explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear language appropriate to the audience

Consideration for Top Candidates:

  • Experience spanning strategy, product, partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, venture diligence, or corporate development with a track record of turning market insight into action.
  • Strong narrative + quantitative blend: comfortable moving between customer/market insight and financially grounded decisioning.
  • MBA from a top tier university with finance depth preferred.
  • Prior startup operating experience, prior investing experience, strong relationships across the customer ecosystem (mining and construction)

Summary Pay Range:

$162,540.00 - $264,120.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location,job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
