About this Job

This AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robot) Engineering Intern position is primarily working with Research & Development Engineers and Project Engineers as part of customer facing projects with some time spent assisting with conducting physical testing of AMR hardware and software and hardware in Research & Development environments.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $19.00-$23.00 per hour at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

  • You must be a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university.
  • Actively pursuing a degree in Mechatronic or Electrical Engineer. Potentially consider an Information Technologies degree path for the right candidate.
  • Currently a Sophomore, Junior, or Senior pursuing a bachelor's degree.
  • The AMR Engineer intern would benefit by being stationed at the Dematic Tech Center in Grand Rapids, MI, working alongside Engineers, as well as having direct access to the automation for testing.
  • Desired skills: AMR Linux server configuration, physical testing,
  • Participate in various Future Talent Programming events, such as weekly professional development sessions, a team-based innovation challenge and endless development opportunities

What We are looking for:

  • Competence with engineering and mathematical analysis
  • Experience with FIRST Robotics is a plus
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to do light assembly of Mechanical and Electrical equipment
  • Good communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Flexibility and willingness to work as part of a team of professionals
  • Chinese Mandarin language is a plus
