SUMMARY
The TGW Controls Project Manager Team Lead is responsible for the design and integration of control systems for industrial material handling solutions and production lines.
The Controls Project Manager Team Lead has two major focuses:
- To lead a team of Controls Project Mangers
- To execute smaller external or internal projects
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborating with other departments internal and external to TGW
- Identifying, estimating and mitigating risk for special Controls implementations
- Providing next level escalation level for employees on the team
- Collaborating with and providing feedback to other departments in the implementation process (electrical installation, controls development, control commissioning team, etc.)
- Manage special internal or customer Projects from design to installation and commissioning to ramp up
- Support the Sales Bid Process for controls solutions on the Project management side
- Support and reach the Controls Project Manager identified KPIs for project management on a quarterly basis
- Participate in the hiring process and development of Controls Project Managers
- Releasing time, PTO, and approving expense reports
- Reporting lessons learned across department
- Ensuring employee have the right tools for the required tasks (Laptop, Software, etc...) and organizing trainings
- Ensuring team is following TGW and customer safety rules
- Living and promoting the TGW values
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical systems experience
Experience:
5+ years of Project Management experience
Travel:
20-50% of travel as required.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong understanding of Electrical Installation and Controls Engineering
- Experience working on a complete project lifecycle (design to production)
- System level working knowledge of PLC Controls and Software Engineering.
- Basic understanding for Industrial Communication Protocol (ProfiNet, Ethernet IP, etc…)
- Ability to read and understand CAD and electrical drawings
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project
Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain stationary at a desk for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to go to site frequently and move safely around industrial and/or warehouse environment.
- Ability to lift and carry supplies up to 25 pounds at a time.
- Ability to operate computers, tablets, phones, and other electronic devices.
- Ability to communicate with others verbally and in writing, on a frequent basis.
- Ability to tolerate exposure to job site temperature fluctuations due to seasonal weather in geographic region.

Other Requirements
This position may require work at TGW customer sites. TGW’s customers may require background checks before accessing their sites. Refusal to participate in a customer-required background check may result in a customer barring access and a subsequent reduction in work.
