Join our dynamic team where your expertise will play a crucial role in enhancing production efficiency and quality! As a key player in our weld shop, you will safely and effectively support production processes, ensuring high-quality welds while primarily working with state-of-the-art Yaskawa robots. Your mission will be to create and maintain innovative welding robot programs that meet our production demands.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Program Development: Design and optimize welding programs tailored for various materials and applications, ensuring compliance with Kubota's weld penetration standards.
  • Robot Operation: Safely operate welding robots while taking charge of repairs, enhancements, and the creation of new programming.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough tests and inspections to guarantee weld quality and adherence to critical dimension tolerances as outlined in product drawings.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform cleaning, routine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of weld shop equipment to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with engineering and production teams to enhance processes and tackle challenges collaboratively.
  • Continuous Improvement: Engage in activities aimed at process enhancement, supporting standardized work processes and team-oriented goals.
  • Robotic Equipment Management: Maintain and troubleshoot robotic equipment to minimize downtime and ensure efficiency.
  • 5-Gen Principles: Understand and implement the 5-Gen principles to reduce waste in robot programming and weld cell operations.
  • 5S Activities: Participate actively in 5S initiatives to maintain an organized and efficient work environment.
  • Documentation: Keep accurate records of programming changes, procedures, and maintenance activities.
  • Training: Provide training and support to operators on the effective use of robotic welding systems.
  • Stay Informed: Keep abreast of the latest advancements in welding technology and robotics.
  • Compliance: Understand and adhere to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements.
  • Special Projects: Take on special projects and related tasks as requested to support the team's goals.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in operating or programming robotic machinery.
  • Strong grasp of welding principles and techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in English, with clear writing skills.
  • Ability to read and follow specific work instructions accurately.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • An Associate’s degree in Robotics, Automation, Welding Technology, or a related field; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience in programming robotic welding systems (MIG and spot welding).
  • Familiarity with Kubota products and the weld shop process.
  • Previous welding experience in a manufacturing setting.
