System Engineering Intern, Autonomous Vehicles - 2026

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Develop, build, and uphold the fundamental software for self-driving vehicles that processes sensor information to enable smart vehicle control

• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to solve real-world sophisticated problems in perception, planning, and control, ensuring a safe and outstanding driving experience

• Invent AI tools for improving development efficiency

What We Need to See:

• MS or PhD students in EE/CS or a closely related field with 2+ years of lab experience

• Proven understanding of programming languages like C++ and Python

• Strong understanding of system programming, including multi-threading, synchronization, inter process communication, and parallel computing to develop highly scalable and efficient applications

• Profound comprehension of the fundamental hardware architecture for CPU/GPU and memory

• Experience in developing system software in user space, with familiarity in digging deep into kernel space and hardware drivers

• Familiarity with source control tools such as git and Perforce

• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills to work across teams

Ways to Stand Out from the Crowd:

• Experiences on building AI tools, deep understanding on RAG, MCP etc.

• Solid experience in kernel development, especially with Linux/QNX, and knowledge of OS scheduling, event handling, and real-time requirements

• Experience with Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, or other Artificial Intelligence paradigms

• Background in Automotive Vehicle or Robotic System Building
