About this Job
As the Supervisor - Manufacturing Engineering, you will manage a team of Engineers to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. You will coordinate tasks, solve technical issues, oversee the quality of work, and ensure the team adheres to industry standards and safety regulations. You will act as a bridge between the engineering team, clients, and other stakeholders. You will be responsible for ensuring that all test engineering activity is carried out in line with agreed development plans and standards. You will also ensure high team performance alongside developing a culture of learning and empowerment.
Responsibilities:
- Manages manufacturing information systems functions for a specific user group/functional area to provide adequate technical support for new product or process developments, production, and product problems, or to identify possible new areas for technical exploration.
- Directly manages the electrical team in the implementation of objectives and overall activities
- Signs off approval on quality of events for the application or platform team for all electrical engineering deliverables.
- Ensures proper electrical engineering quote response is provided for new projects and engineering changes.
- Leads the Test Engineering Team to ensure that a high-performance team culture is adopted. Proactively works to ensure effective working relationships within the team and with those whom the team interacts with.
- Provides coaching / mentoring to support professional development of team and wider.
- Resolves technical issues and provides guidance to team members.
- Serves as the SME on supplier, industry, and client emerging technologies and trends.
- Leads technical application training for assigned Wesco sales team when necessary.
- Provides technical support and expertise for assigned Wesco sales team(s).
- Promotes and ensures adherence to safety regulations and procedures.
- Provides advice and guidance to support the adoption of methods and tools to ensure adherence to policies and standards.
- Tailors processes to be in line with agreed standards and evaluation of methods and tools.
- Reviews and improves usage and application of methods and tools.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree - Engineering or related field required; Master Degree preferred
- 6+ years of Electrical, Automation, Mechanical or Electronic design, application and/or technical sales experience
- Experience of leadership responsibility managing project teams and influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders
- Proven track record in project management
- Excellent coordination skills with attention to detail and ability to effectively manage projects as well as support tasks and enhancements including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills with ability to interact at all levels both internally and externally
- Strong project management / time management skills
- Strong product knowledge and application knowledge
- PLC and HMI programming skills
- Experience in panel design and layout
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and technical skills
- Ability to travel 25% - 50%
