About this Job
Primary Purpose Oversees professional staff and implements section‑level process improvements that raise configuration integrity, test coverage and documentation quality; coordinates vendor updates and small initiatives to ensure timely, compliant delivery that supports operational goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Reviews software licensing agreements to support cost-effective procurement strategies.
- Develops and implements policies to mitigate cybersecurity threats to Energy Management System (EMS) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems.
- Coordinates periodic upgrades to EMS, SCADA, and control center automation systems to incorporate the latest technologies.
- Ensures adherence to protocols for system updates, software patches, and version control to maintain system integrity.
- Oversees internal and external audits to ensure EMS software meets security, reliability, and compliance benchmarks.
- Oversees disaster recovery strategies to ensure the resilience of EMS and SCADA systems.
- Develops training programs and provides technical guidance to system operators and engineers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Required: Typically requires a 4 year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Experience
- Required: Typically requires 5 years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Required: Energy Management Systems (EMS) - The automation systems that collect energy measurement data from the field and making it available to users through graphics, online monitoring tools, and energy quality analyzers, thus enabling the management of energy resources.
- Required: Programming/Scripting - Applies a computer language to communicate with computers using a set of instructions and to automate the execution of tasks.
- Required: Control Systems Engineering - Designing, implementing, and optimizing control systems that regulate and manage the behavior of dynamic systems, ensuring stability, responsiveness, and desired performance criteria.
- Required: Network Modeling - The process of creating a digital representation of an energy system that captures the relationships and interactions among various components. This process enables the analysis, understanding, and prediction of network behavior and performance.
- Required: Software Testing - An investigation conducted to provide stakeholders with information about the quality of the software product or service under test.
- Required: Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) - A process used by the software industry to design, develop and test high quality software.
- Required: Power Systems Analysis - Analyzing electrical power systems to assess performance, reliability, and efficiency, identifying opportunities for optimization, upgrades, or corrective actions.
- Required: Software Configuration - Configure software products and apply scripts and automation tools to integrate and deploy software releases to various platforms and operating environments. This includes subsequent modifications to software configuration, based on outcomes of systems and/or configuration tests.
- Required: Cybersecurity Management - Capability to protect information resources and competitive advantage in a complex and evolving threat landscape.
- Required: Data Analysis - Measuring and managing organization data, identifying methodological best practices and conducting statistical analyses.
