This Opportunity
WSP is seeking an experienced and future‑focused Senior Project Managerto join our Midwest Region Geomatics Team. This role expands our surveying and geospatial capabilities by integrating GIS, remote sensing, digital field data collection, and enterprise geospatial workflows into Transportation and Infrastructure programs across the Midwest. The preferred location for this position is Minneapolis, MN. This is a seller–doer role for a professional who can both win work and deliver high‑value geospatial solutions, with a focus on shaping and growing our digital geomatics offerings for state and local DOTs, MPOs, transit agencies, and municipal clients.

Clients
Serve as a client‑facing leader for geospatial and digital geomatics services across the Midwest.
Expand WSP’s footprint by identifying opportunities where GIS, dashboards, remote sensing, UAS, and data governance add value to transportation clients.
Develop winning proposals, scopes, and budgets that elevate our digital capabilities and differentiate WSP in interviews and orals.
Cultivate long‑term relationships with DOTs, counties, municipalities, and regional partners.
Expertise
Lead geospatial components of transportation and infrastructure programs, including:
GIS enterprise architecture & AGOL/Portal implementations
Remote sensing and environmental/transportation analytics
UAS, LiDAR, and photogrammetry data integration
Mobile data collection (Field Maps, Survey123)
Dashboards, StoryMaps, and digital reporting tools
Survey/GIS data workflows and data governance
Develop advanced mapping products, decision-support tools, and spatial analytics that improve project outcomes and client insight.
Provide technical leadership on data standards, QA/QC, metadata, and cross-platform data integration.
Support project teams in understanding and applying best practices in GIS, RS, and digital geomatics solutions.
Operational Excellence
Lead initiatives to modernize geomatics workflows through automation, digital field tools, and innovative geospatial technologies.
Improve quality, consistency, and efficiency through standards development and repeatable templates.
Support hiring, training, and professional development for digital and geospatial talent.
Collaborate with internal disciplines, external partners, and subconsultants to deliver coordinated technical solutions.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds and resources and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in GIS, remote sensing, geomatics, geography, environmental science, or closely related field.
10+ years of experience delivering geospatial, digital, or geomatics solutions for infrastructure programs.
Demonstrated ability to win work and lead client-facing engagement involving GIS, digital tools, or geospatial analytics.
Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex geospatial concepts to non-technical audiences.
Proficiency with Esri software (ArcGIS Pro, AGOL, Enterprise), remote sensing workflows, and field data collection solutions.
Experience managing budgets, schedules, and cross-disciplinary teams.
Understanding of survey/GIS integration concepts, transportation data standards, and data governance principles.
Ability to work independently and lead multidisciplinary teams.
Commitment to safety, ethics, and WSP’s Code of Conduct.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and be willing to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree is a plus.
FAA Part 107, CP/CMS, GISP, or PMP certifications.
Experience developing AGOL/Enterprise architectures, dashboards, and program-level data management systems.
Established relationships with regional DOTs, municipalities, and transportation-sector clients.
Familiarity with UAS, LiDAR processing, photogrammetry workflows, and integrating unstructured data into GIS.
Experience supporting major transportation programs requiring data governance, geospatial analytics, and digital reporting.

Compensation: Expected Salary (all locations): $104,300 - $ 155,550
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and specific geographic location.
