About this Job

The Role: What to expect

Join our Simulation Team to build the software powering the development, validation, and deployment of advanced robotic systems. As a Robotics Simulation Software Engineer, you'll build scalable simulation capabilities — for virtual testing, AI development, synthetic data generation, and automated validation — working closely with robotics, AI, infrastructure, and product teams. Our platform serves as the training ground where robots learn, practice, and are validated at scale before ever touching the real world, supporting a broad portfolio of robots from AMRs and AGVs to manipulators and humanoids. We're increasingly building on NVIDIA's Isaac ecosystem and OpenUSD, and welcome candidates from adjacent simulation ecosystems ready to specialize in this stack.

Role Responsibilities: What you will do

  • Build realistic simulation capabilities for robots, sensors, and environment interactions — leveraging NVIDIA Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, and OpenUSD or adjacent simulation stacks.
  • Develop and maintain simulation interfaces that support the training, evaluation, and refinement of robot control policies.
  • Create environments and curricula within simulation where robots can practice, fail safely, and improve before deployment, including synthetic data generation and simulation-based validation.
  • Contribute to the evolution of our simulation architecture, APIs, and validation framework, optimizing for performance, reliability, and scalability at GPU-accelerated scale.
  • Design, develop, and maintain simulation software using C++, C#, and Python.
  • Collaborate with robotics, AI, and product teams to accelerate Physical AI development through simulation.

Role Requirements: What you need to succeed

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a track record of independently owning significant features or subsystems from design through deployment.
  • Strong programming skills in C++, C#, or Python, with the ability and willingness to work across multiple languages.
  • Solid grounding in software engineering fundamentals—object-oriented design, clean code, testing, debugging, and performance optimization—applied to production-quality systems.
  • Hands-on work with real-time simulation environments (Isaac Sim, Unity, Unreal, MuJoCo, Gazebo, or similar), including robotics or physics-based simulation concepts.
  • Experience integrating simulation environments with control policy training and evaluation pipelines is a strong plus.
  • Direct experience with NVIDIA Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, or USD (OpenUSD)-based pipelines is a strong plus and will fast-track your application.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive technical decisions and mentor other engineers within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Comfortable working in a highly collaborative, agile software development environment.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; German is a plus.
