Title: R&D Intern, Robotics Location:** This position is based in our Campbell, California offices, on-site & full-time. Imperative Care does not provide relocation or additional housing compensation for the summer internship.
Why Imperative Care? At Imperative Care we are developing novel robotic-assisted technologies and interventional capabilities that will forever change the disparate outcomes of ischemic stroke – a disease that impacts close to a million people a year in the U.S., and 10 million worldwide. Not only is Imperative Care changing the way stroke is treated, but also bringing this treatment to the greater population who is currently without. We are actively building a team who is focused on developing novel solutions for this complex disease – a disease in which one in four adults will face in their lifetime.
What You’ll Do At Imperative Care we are developing novel robotic-assisted technologies and interventional capabilities that will forever change the disparate outcomes of ischemic stroke – a disease that impacts close to a million people a year in the U.S., and 10 million worldwide. Not only is Imperative Care changing the way stroke is treated, but also bringing this treatment to the greater population who is currently without. We are actively building a team who is focused on developing novel solutions for this complex disease – a disease in which one in four adults will face in their lifetime.
You should have a knowledge of structural design and optimization, power transfer, and general manufacturing processes. Experience in a student project like Formula SAE, working as a TA in the machine shop, or just a bunch of cool stuff you have previously designed and built is expected.
- Participate in the design and development of new concepts or test methods.
- Solve technical issues by troubleshooting and determining root cause.
- Interact with engineers to understand product requirements.
- Participate in brainstorming and suggest new ideas and improvements pertaining to design and process.
- Perform verification testing, which may include protocol development and documentation of experimental execution, as well as report writing.
- Document relevant information (i.e. new ideas, test results, build procedure, etc.) in lab notebook according to good laboratory practices or company procedure
- Perform statistical analysis of test results.
What You’ll Bring
- Minimum of 2 years of college-level coursework in Mechanical Engineering.
- Should possess strong math skills, including familiarity with statistical concepts
- Good interpersonal skills, effective interaction with R&D and other departments
