Your future role

Pay rate of $34.99 per hour plus benefits

Take on a new challenge and apply your robotics and electromechanical maintenance expertise at our Hornell manufacturing site, a long‑standing center of rail innovation and craftsmanship. You’ll join a skilled, hands‑on, and safety‑focused maintenance team, playing a critical role in keeping our robotic production systems operating safely, reliably, and efficiently.

This position operates in a unionized manufacturing environment, where adherence to established work practices, safety standards, and collaboration across teams is essential to success.

Day‑to‑day, you’ll work closely with production, engineering, and fellow maintenance colleagues to troubleshoot complex issues and perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime. You’ll specifically take care of maintaining and repairing industrial robots and their supporting systems, while also contributing to continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives across the site.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Ensuring availability, performance, and reliability of robotic cells through effective preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Troubleshooting and repairing robotic systems, controllers, and peripheral equipment to safely restore production
  • Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues using appropriate tools and diagnostics
  • Supporting robot program adjustments, calibrations, and system optimizations as needed
  • Accurately documenting maintenance activities and following all safety, quality, and site procedures

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • An associate degree or equivalent experience in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electromechanical Technology, or a related field
  • Hands‑on experience with industrial robots and controllers (such as FANUC, ABB, KUKA, or Yaskawa)
  • Confidence reading electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and pneumatic or hydraulic diagrams
  • Valid state driver's license
  • A strong commitment to safety, consistency, and quality in a union manufacturing environment
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively within established processes and agreements

Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life‑long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, structure, and hands‑on technical challenges in a long‑established Hornell facility
  • Work with advanced automation, robotics, and production technologies
  • Collaborate with experienced union colleagues and cross‑functional teams
  • Contribute directly to the reliability and quality of rail vehicles built in Hornell
  • Benefit from clear role expectations, defined work practices, and a supportive team environment
  • Receive a fair and competitive reward package, including a pay rate of $34.99 per hour, plus site‑specific benefits

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
