What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Be a part of the Bodyshop Maintenance Team
  • Develop, debug, andoptimizerobot programs using industry-standard programming languages to automate tasks such as welding, assembly, painting, and material handling.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to translate process requirements into efficient robot motion sequences.
  • Integrate robotic systems with other factory equipment and control systems, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), vision systems, and sensors, to create fully automated manufacturing cells and production lines. Ensure seamless communication and synchronization between robotic and non-robotic components.
  • Utilize simulation software and offline programming tools to model robot movements, verify program logic, andoptimizecycle times before implementation on the shop floor. Minimize downtime and maximize productivity byidentifyingand resolving potential issues in a virtual environment.
  • Performand train others onroutine maintenance tasks, such as robot calibration, lubrication, andcomponentreplacement, to ensureoptimalperformance and reliability. Diagnose and resolve issues related to robot hardware, software, sensors, and peripheral equipmentin a timely mannerto minimize production disruptions.
  • Implement safety protocols, including risk assessments, interlocks, and safety-rated software functions, to ensure the safe operation of robotic systemsin accordance withregulatory requirements and industry best practices. Conduct periodic safety inspections and audits toidentifyand mitigate potential hazards.
  • Create andmaintaincomprehensive documentation, including robot programs, user manuals, troubleshooting guides, and training materials, to support ongoing operations and knowledge transfer. Provide training and technical support to operators, maintenance personnel, and production engineers on robot operation, programming, and safety procedures.

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Blythewood, South Carolina
  • This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the companyfrom time to time.

  • 5years of professional experience in automotive production, withexpertisein achieving stable production processes and in-depth knowledge ofproduction equipment and operations.
  • Bachelor's or Master'sdegree, or similarin Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.Aequivalent amount of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Knowledge about VASS 6 preferred
  • Be capableto teachdifferent process equipment like, adhesive, weld spot, clinching, handling, MIG/MAGand Laser application.
  • Be capable to set up a new Robot System
  • KnowledgeaboutRobotickinematics,mechanical/electrical parts
  • Ability to understand mechanical assemblies, complex stations, and automated equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Havingstrong communicationand presentation skills

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial Base Salary Range: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00

Internal Leveling Code: IC9
