About Tycho.AI

Tycho.AI builds autonomy solutions for unmanned systems operating in GPS- and comms-denied environments. We are a fast-growing, dual-use technology company at the forefront of national security and commercial innovation, with a mission to push the boundaries of what autonomous systems can achieve. Backed by VCs with unicorn wins and trusted by defense customers, our team is rethinking autonomy from the chip up using modular AI, advanced visual-inertial sensing, and real-time edge compute to unlock next-gen mission capability.

About the Role

As a Software QA/QC Engineer you will help ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of our autonomy software stack. This role will work closely with software, product, test, and hardware teams to validate system behavior across simulation, embedded platforms, and real-world testing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test plans, validation procedures, and quality processes for autonomy and embedded software systems

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated testing frameworks for backend services, embedded systems, APIs, and autonomy behaviors

  • Build regression, integration, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), and system-level test pipelines

  • Collaborate with autonomy, controls, perception, embedded, and platform engineers to define acceptance criteria and validation methodologies

  • Investigate software defects, reproduce issues, and partner with engineering teams to drive root-cause analysis and resolution

  • Support field testing and operational validation efforts for autonomous systems

  • Define metrics and reporting processes for software quality, reliability, and release readiness

  • Improve CI/CD workflows and automated quality gates within the software development lifecycle

  • Contribute to documentation related to testing procedures, validation results, and release certification processes

  • Help establish scalable QA/QC best practices appropriate for a rapidly growing engineering organization

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in software QA, software validation, or test engineering

  • Experience testing complex robotics platforms or autonomy systems

  • Proficiency with automated testing frameworks such as NVIDIA Isaac Sim and Gazebo

  • Proficiency with and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or JavaScript

  • Experience with CI/CD systems and modern software development workflows

  • Familiarity with Linux-based development environments

  • Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills

  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced startup environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice to have

  • Experience with UAVs or aerospace systems

  • Experience with simulation environments and hardware-in-the-loop testing

  • Familiarity with ROS/ROS2, real-time systems, or embedded Linux

  • Experience validating AI/ML-enabled systems or perception pipelines

  • Knowledge of networking, telemetry, and distributed systems testing

  • Exposure to safety-critical or regulated development environments

  • Experience building internal QA tooling or infrastructure

Why Tycho.AI

  • Be part of a rapidly scaling startup defining the future of autonomous intelligence.

  • Collaborative, high-trust culture that values innovation, execution, and continuous learning.

  • Competitive salary, meaningful equity, and generous benefits package.
