As a Power Electronics Intern at OmniOn Power, you will work with the RD Engineering team supporting them on the product development and evaluation of technologies for AC/DC and DC/DC converters-based power supplies. This is an onsite role based in Plano, Texas.
This position reports to:
RD Engineering Manager based in Plano, Texas
Your responsibilities:
· Participate in product and technology development projects
· Support prototypes development
· Conduct laboratory tests following all required safety protocols
· Model, design and test power converters
· Present the technical results
Qualification/ requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Strong software design knowledge, especially for desktop applications
- Solid programming skills in at least one of: C++, C#/.NET, or Python
- Experience with a GUI framework (e.g., Qt, WPF, or similar)
- Good understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns, and clean code practices
- Familiarity with communication protocols commonly used in embedded/industrial systems (e.g., TCP/IP, UART, CAN, Modbus, etc.)
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows
- Basic knowledge of UI/UX principles for building intuitive user interfaces
