Overview

Job Summary As an Electronics Technician, the role will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment and systems. The role involves diagnosing and resolving technical issues, performing routine inspections, and ensuring that all electronic devices operate efficiently and reliably. The technician will work closely with engineering and production teams to support the development and enhancement of electronic systems and provide technical expertise to troubleshoot and address any malfunctions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installing and configuring electronic systems and equipment according to specifications and standards.
  • Diagnosing and repairing malfunctions in electronic devices and systems using diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Performing tests on electronic systems to ensure proper functionality and calibrating equipment as needed.
  • Conducting regular maintenance and preventive checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Keeping detailed records of repairs, maintenance, and modifications, as well as updating technical documentation.
  • Ensuring that all electronic components meet quality and safety standards before deployment.
  • Working with engineers and other technicians to develop and improve electronic products and systems.
  • Assisting in the training of junior technicians and staff on equipment usage and safety protocols.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards in all electronic work performed.
  • Managing and maintaining an inventory of electronic components and tools necessary for repairs and installations.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years industrial maintenance experience
  • Must have experience using hand and power tools, precision measuring tools, and the ability to read and work from drawings and blueprints
  • Read, write, and orally communicate in English and ability to work with no or little supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior maintenance experience in a USDA inspected beef, pork, or poultry facility
  • Experience with PLC & controls hardware and software (Rockwell Automation a plus)
  • Work history in the last 12 months
  • Support Plant Floor Specific technologies
  • Matrix in motion scales
  • Meat Store and Parts Room Point of Sale Systems
  • Scan Gun Support
  • Label Printers
  • 2+ years’ experience in the field or related area
  • 1+ years’ experience in an Infrastructure Support or Service Desk role
  • Experience or exposure to appropriate systems
  • Windows Desktop Operating Systems
  • Various brands of desktops, laptops, and other peripheral hardware
  • Imaging and configuration of desktops and laptops
  • iPhones, printers, hand-held scanners, and other peripheral devices
  • A variety of application solutions (web, database, etc.)
  • Infrastructure monitoring tools

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to attend work consistently

  • Follow all food safety, quality and SQF rules

  • Ability to perform consistent, accurate work, with minimal direction and work successfully as part of a team
  • Must be able to withstand long periods in cold, warm, or wet/damp environments
  • Must have mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to develop, read, and interpret schematics and drawings
  • Familiarity with PLC programming concepts (e.g., ladder logic, function block diagrams) and hands-on experience in HMI/SCADA development. Knowledge of hardware design principles and control systems is advantageous

America's Heartland Packing is set to open its doors in early 2025. The 775,000 sq. ft. greenfield project will include a harvest floor, carcass chillers, fabrication area, rendering, further processing area, storage coolers, freezers, and loading docks.
