What You Need to Know
We’re looking for a PLC Software Engineer to join our Engineering team in Great Yarmouth. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge industrial control systems, contributing to projects across multiple energy sectors.
You’ll be involved in the design, development, and delivery of PLC and SCADA software, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, compliant solutions.
**What We Are Looking For **Some of the Key Accountabilities:
Design and develop PLC/SCADA software systems for industrial control applications
Produce clear, accurate technical documentation to support design, testing, and commissioning
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
Ensure all solutions comply with relevant standards, specifications, and QA/QC requirements
Provide testing, commissioning, and on-site support when required
Interface with customers to ensure requirements are understood and successfully delivered
Contribute to continuous improvement and maintain high standards of safety, quality, and performance
Qualifications / Skills & Experience
Essential
Qualification in Electrical, Electronic, Controls, or Energy Engineering
Experience or understanding of PLC, SCADA, and RTU systems
Knowledge of software development practices (including documentation and version control)
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
Desirable
Degree-level qualification (BEng or equivalent)
Knowledge of industrial automation delivery and communication systems
Programming experience (e.g. C, C++, VB)
Experience with on-site or offshore commissioning and fault finding
Vendor-specific PLC/SCADA training
Additional Information
Primarily based in Great Yarmouth, with occasional UK and overseas travel (including offshore)
Candidates should hold a valid UK driving licence and passport
Offshore certification will be required (fitness level to support this is essential)
