The Wärtsilä Land and Sea Academy (WLSA) provides high-quality training services for the energy and marine markets globally.We are focusing on Wärtsilä product and solution training both for our internal and external customer globally in the Marine and Power Plant industries.

We are looking for a Mechatronic Instructor whose main responsibility is the practical execution of training activities in our training centre or at site, for our external customers and own employees, face-to-face or via virtual classroom using Microsoft Teams. The preferred location for this position is in Drunen, however it can also be based in Trieste

To achieve this, your responsibilities will be but aren’t limited to:

  • Deliver training on Wärtsilä products.
  • Develop/ evaluate/ improve training programs and materials as well as new concepts.
  • Set up the training equipment and simulators.
  • Develop the needed competences and skills for the assigned product trainings, engines and automations.
  • Set up and develop the training material, concepts, equipment and simulators.
  • Support the sales, planning and execution of training activities for customers and own personnel.
  • Customize standard learning solutions for specific target groups.
  • Lead or participate in projects within or outside WLSA for which technical knowledge and experience is needed.

What you will need to succeed in this position:

  • Excellent knowledge and operational experience with 4 Strokes engines and automation systems of Wärtsilä products: Marine, Power Plant.
  • Excellent communication skills in English. Other languages (such as Dutch or Italian) are a plus.
  • Quality, safety and environmental skills
  • Ability to work in an international environment with solid teamwork and networking skills.
  • Customer focus and orientation: understanding the business and analyzing the businesses' training needs.
  • BSc or MSc in engineering or strong/equivalent working background reached by experience in a (preferably) maritime environment.

  • A natural aptitude for interpersonal skills
  • A flexible and constructive approach toward last minute changes or requests.
  • At field experience with W31 engine

The primary location for this role is the Netherlands and salary will be in accordance with the salary provisions of the Collective Labour Agreement with Metalektro. However this role can also be based in Italy, the annual salary range for this role is 33315 EUR – 46915 EUR in accordance with the salary provisions in the National Collective Labor Agreement for workers in the metalworking and plant installation industry (CCNL Metalmeccanico).

At Wärtsilä, we are committed to fair and transparent pay. The salary range shared reflects the expected compensation for this role in that location, based on market data and our job architecture.

The final salary will be influenced by factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the role, the required competencies, and your relevant education, skills, experience and the salary provisions in the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement. We also take internal equity into account to ensure a fair and consistent approach across our organisation.
