Our Opportunity: Maintenance Technician

Status: Full Time Night Shift

Hours: 12-hour shift - 7p-7a

Schedule: 2-2-3 rotating shifts (work 15 days a month!)

Summary

The Maintenance Technician-Night Shift is responsible for preventative maintenance for all facility and operational assets during night shift.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems including cylinders, motors, and solenoids

  • Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic systems such as air cylinders and electro-pneumatic solenoids

  • Maintain and repair process fluid systems, including manual, electric, and pneumatic valves, check valves, and basic piping configurations

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate process monitoring equipment (temperature, pressure, level, and flow devices; gauges, meters, transmitters, and transducers)

  • Perform basic electrical work, including motor, sensor, and fuse replacement

  • Work with PLC-controlled equipment and understand basic PLC and sensor functions

  • Use and navigate HMI systems, including setup and data logging

  • Understand and troubleshoot machine timing (stroke, position, dwell, cams, and sequencing)

  • Read and follow machine manuals, mechanical drawings, and SOPs

  • Complete accurate documentation such as work orders and parts inventory usage

  • Collaborate with team members to identify problems and implement effective solutions

  • Support continuous improvement through training, knowledge sharing, and on/off-site learning

  • Comply with food and beverage GMP standards

  • Perform other duties as assigned

What You Need to Bring

  • Entry-level troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in a manufacturing or industrial environment

  • Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and process instrumentation

  • Computer literacy, including HMI interfaces, email, and data entry

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in team-based situations

  • High attention to detail with a strong sense of urgency and ownership

  • Willingness to continuously learn and develop technical skills

  • Ability to maintain a personal set of required tools

  • Flexibility to work nights, overtime, and weekends as needed

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment

The Carolina Beverage Corporation was started in Salisbury, NC by a general store owner named LD Peeler. Peeler first began distributing a soft drink called Mint Cola. In 1917 during a World War I sugar shortage, LD Peeler began experimenting with other flavors and developed the soft drink Cheerwine. Today Cheerwine is the primary beverage sold by the company. The company is still based in Salisbury and is privately owned and managed by the same founding family, five generations of whom have worked there. 2017 marks the 100th anniversary of Cheerwine.
