About this Job

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining plant equipment and supporting the achievement of the plant's business goals and objectives. In this function you will: Use mechanical skills to perform highly diversified activities to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production machines and equipment in support of the manufacture of heavy-duty & medium-duty truck transmissions. These repairs are not limited to just mechanical but are considered multiskilled and will also include electrical and control related task to ensure the job is complete. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and adjust on equipment as well as have a good working knowledge of machine components, mechanical and electrical and troubleshooting aptitude for both. Troubleshooting equipment using the machine and OEM software to diagnose and repair issues. (including Fanuc robots and controls; NC/CNC equipment; and PLC and drive systems) Perform regular preventive and predictive maintenance on machines and equipment as scheduled. Read and interpret electric/electronic schematics, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams, mechanical blueprints; equipment manuals; and work orders. Use these to take action to perform required equipment maintenance. Assists in maintaining an atmosphere of continuous improvement and team efforts for accomplishing department and plant goals. Maintains work area 6S and assists in department/team housekeeping efforts Reports unusual conditions, safety issues, or defective materials to coach Trains and continually updates skills to adapt to new machinery and technology Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing focused maintenance experience or related experience. (With developed training in mechanics, electrical, industrial maintenance, automation) Experience with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting as well as interpreting machine schematics such as electronic schematics, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams, and mechanical blueprints in support of rebuild/repair of equipment. Working knowledge of a CMMS asset management software. No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of the work location to be considered. Active - Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Associates Degree in Industrial Maintenance, or related field, and three(3) years electrical/automation experience; OR a certificate in Industrial Maintenance, or related field, and five (5) years of electrical/automation experience.
