Job Description
Datavault AI is looking for a Robotics Engineer to work on our Humanoid Robots. This role will primarily be focused on enabling our use of Robots for use at the Event Citadel subsidiary of Datavault. A good candidate will have a deep understanding of programming movement and control to allow a robot to open a door and escort a person to a specific location. Afterwards, the robot would need to return to the door and verify if a person can enter a given space. The robot will need to scan Passes and reject people who are not allowed.
Key****Responsibilities
- Mechanical Design:Architecting high-degree-of-freedom (DOF) structures, including robotic arms, legs for bipedal locomotion, and dexterous hand systems.
- Locomotion & Control:Developing and implementing algorithms for dynamic stability, gait, and whole-body control (e.g., ZMP, LIPM) to ensure the robot can walk and balance.
- Manipulation:Designing sensors and actuators for fine motor skills, object grasping, and tactile feedback.
- System Integration:Merging perception (computer vision, LiDAR), motion planning, and hardware components into a unified, reliable platform.
- Testing & Validation: Using simulation tools (like Gazebo, Isaac Sim, or Mujoco) and physical prototypes to debug and optimize performance.
Qualifications
- Requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or Computer Science.
- 7+ years of experience in robotics or related fields, with expertise expected of a senior engineer.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python is essential for core control and perception libraries.
- Proven experience as a senior robotics engineer, owning complex systems from concept to deployment.
- Understanding of kinematics, dynamics, sensor fusion, and increasingly, AI/Machine Learning for motion control.
