Job Description & Responsibilities
Persistent is looking for an Engineer to join itsUnmanned SystemsIntegration Engineering team.This teamprovidesend-to-endintegration support forcrewedaviation, uncrewedaerial/surface/groundsystems(UXS), and munition customers.As part of ourUxSIntegration Engineering team, you will support andfacilitatesystem integration of Persistent products, test planning and execution, network design, RF mapping, report generation and delivery, and responses to RFIs and RFPspertain toUxS. You will play a pivotal role in communicating technical challenges and new requirements to our engineering department as you strive to solve problems. This role requires excellent communication skills as you willbe requiredto work across the entire Persistent Systems team including Sales, Field Operations,ProgramManagement, Engineering, and Quality to provide customer solutions.
Position Responsibilities
- Build customer relationships with program clients through managing and interpreting their requirements and conveying progress to the Management team
- Communicating Persistent Systems' solutions to technical and non-technical clients and end-users for UASand/or UGVapplications
- Contributing to program effectiveness byidentifyingshort-term and long-term issues; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; and recommending options and courses of action
- Developing test plansandmethodologies followed by final reports and summaries for internal and external customers
- Troubleshooting customers’ communication systems and collaborating with the Sales, Engineering,and Field Operations teams to resolve technical issues
- Developing technical portions of responses to RFI / RFP and other similar customerrequests
- Maintaining expert knowledge of Persistent Systems products to evaluate andmaintainprogram objectives
- Working closely withProduct DevelopmentDepartmentby providing feedback from information gathered duringintegration andtesting projects
- Work directly withPersistent’sMANET equipment in applications ranging from ground-based to airborne to subterranean in support of customers including Defense, Federal, other military / law enforcement, and commercial organizations
Job Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, or uncrewed systems
- 3+yearsofexperiencewith UASand/or UGVsystems
- Proficiencyinunmanned system data link technologysuch as wirelesscommunications,IProuting, antennas,and/orRF propagation
- Understanding of product development and systems architecture design
- Proficiencyin programming in Python, C, and/or C++
- Proficiencyin advanced technical software packages such asWiresharkand/orMATLAB
- Proficiencyin data collection and analysis
- Experience working directly withproduct development teams,bothindustryand governmentcustomers,end users
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills, written and verbal
- Must be available to travel up to30%of the time
- Ability to obtain a Secret US Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in electrical engineering
- 5+ years of experience withUncrewedAerial Systems
- Net+, Sec+, CCNA, or CWNA certifications
- Experience with wireless concepts such as MANET, Mesh, Ad-hoc, protocols and web architecture, with an understanding of hardware and software concepts
- DoD Information Operations and Cyber Security experience
- CurrentSecret US Security Clearance
The base pay for this role can vary from $152,000 to $194,000 a year based on individual qualifications. Eligibility for yearly discretionary bonus.
