About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Industrial Controls & Maintenance Technician to support and improve operations at our beef processing facility. This role combines PLC troubleshooting, electrical work, and mechanical support on production and environmental equipment including grinders, vacuum packagers, and complex conveying systems as well as air units, and other plant automated systems.
This is not a desk job - you will be actively working on the plant floor solving real-time issues and improving uptime.
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and maintain PLC-controlled equipment (Allen-Bradley, Simatic, others)
Diagnose and repair electrical systems (motors, sensors, VFDs, HMIs)
Perform maintenance and repairs on refrigeration and processing and packaging equipment:
Grinders
Conveyors
Packaging machines
Make up air units and air handlers
Perform maintenance and repairs on plant harvest processing line and carcass conveying system
Respond to equipment downtime and emergencies
Assist with equipment upgrades, installs, and improvements
Work with production team to improve efficiency and reliability
Maintain compliance with food safety and plant standards
Required Experience
- 3+ years in industrial maintenance, controls, or automation
- Experience with PLCs (troubleshooting required, programming is a plus)
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills (480V, motor controls, etc.)
- Experience in manufacturing or processing environment
Preferred (Big Plus)
- Experience in food or meat processing plants
- Familiarity with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell / Semiens(Simatic) systems
- Experience with VFDs, HMIs, and instrumentation
- Mechanical experience with production equipment (grinders, conveyors, packaging)
