Job Description

  • Design & Development Support:
    • Hardware Safety Architecture: Collaborate with hardware, system, and software architects to define, derive, and implement hardware-level safety requirements from Technical Safety Concepts (TSC).
    • Design: collaborate in HW circuit design, especially in safety critical functions
    • Safety Analysis: Conduct systematic quantitative and qualitative safety analyses, specifically FMEDA (Failure Modes, Effects, and Diagnostic Analysis) and DFA (Dependent Failure Analysis) to calculate safety metrics (SPFM, LFM, PMHF) and prove freedom from interference.
    • Verification Support: Partner with HW test coordinators to define safety verification test plans, evaluate diagnostic coverage, and validate hardware-level safety mechanisms.
  • Documentation & Standards:
    • Standards Compliance: Ensure strict development compliance with ISO 26262 Part 5 (Product development at the hardware level).
    • Safety Documentation: Create and maintain key safety documents, including HW Safety Requirements, Safety Analysis Reports, and DFA records.

Qualifications

  • Education:

    • University degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a comparable technical field.
  • Experience:

    • Solid background in automotive hardware development or functional safety engineering.
    • Practical experience executing safety analyses (FMEDA, DFA, FTA, or FMEA).
    • Strong understanding of analog/digital electronic circuitry, microcontroller architectures, and automotive ECU-level safety designs.
  • Language Skills:

    • English: Fluent (written and spoken) is required for working in international teams.
  • Soft Skills:

    • A proactive, quality-oriented "safety culture" mindset with a high sense of responsibility.
    • Structured, analytical, and problem-solving working style.
    • Strong collaboration and communication skills to effectively align safety topics with agile team members, customers, and auditors.
