We are seeking highly motivated Functional Safety Engineer for the implementation of ISO 26262 across next-generation vehicle platforms, ensuring products are safe by design and meet global safety standards. 

As a Functional Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for components, applications, and vehicles. The successful candidate will work with cross-functional teams and interact with subject matter experts within Functional Safety groups within Stellantis. You will ensure coordination with engineering groups globally, be accountable for timely delivery of Functional Safety Deliverables.   

Along with the team you will work with, you will drive key decisions related to Functional Safety. The key deliverable is to launch a world leading safe and secure by design platform product that exceeds all current and future technology challenges in the drive to achieve truly software defined vehicle.   

Responsibilities:  

  • ISO 26262 Safety Lifecycle Execution 

  • Deliver deliverables across multiple platform products according to ISO26262 

  • Lead and contribute to the **Functional Safety lifecycle** (concept → development → validation → release) 

  • Synchronize with project teams within multiple global teams  

  • Synchronize with vehicle project teams  

  • Work with engineering teams within the agile methodology 

  • Collect information related to new feature requests, coordinate technical analysis and assess feasibility  

  • Support convergence & application of product technical policy, in accordance with international standards and internal Stellantis policies  

  • Establish and conduct collaboration opportunities with internal partners  

  • Perform and support Functional Safety deliverables: (i.e. Item Definition, HARA, Safety Goals, FSC, TSC, FMEDA, etc.) 

  • Develop a culture of collaboration, diversity, and inclusion.  

  • Willing to take action and drive results.

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor's degree (Computer Science / Electrical Engineering) or related field. 
  • A minimum of 5 years' overall experience 
  • A minimum of 1 year Experience within Functional Safety 
  • Knowledge about Functional Safety standard: ISO26262

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Master of Science degree (Computer Science / Electrical Engineering) or related field. 

  • Basic understanding typical vehicle EE architectures and automotive development processes.  

  • Demonstrate an understanding of Functional Safety deliverables: (i.e. Item Definition, HARA, Safety Goals, FSC, TSC, FMEDA, etc.)

  • Demonstrated experience of delivering business and technology results for complex, cross-functional initiatives while managing multiple competing priorities.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of ASIL classification   

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.  

  • Ability to collaborate within multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Experience in defining and designing large complex embedded networked computer systems including definition of system topologies, components, and interfaces.
