Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work with low to medium complexity as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guide-lines. Each day, you will plan and execute work with a first-time right approach with customers. You will also showcase your expertise by displaying a clear sense of urgency and care in your area of responsibility. The work model for the role is: This role is contributing to the Motion Service business area (Drives –Medium Voltage) in Italy.

Main stakeholders are customers, service teams, project managers and technical support functions.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Working with the customer (while on-site) to identify opportunities to improve operations and eliminate pain points
  • Performing field service tasks on medium voltage drives, identifying technical issues, and carrying out analysis both remotely and on-site
  • Executing installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities on medium voltage drives
  • Preparing material lists needed for service activities and ensuring all materials, parts, and equipment are available and compliant with quality standards
  • Troubleshooting equipment and process failures, proposing corrective actions, and making recommendations to prevent recurrence
  • Delivering service interventions with a first-time right approach, ensuring timely and high-quality execution
  • Preparing service reports and technical documentation to be validated by the customer
  • Operating in full compliance with ABB safety policies and customer requirements
  • Traveling frequently across Italy and abroad for service activities and training

Qualifications for the role

  • You enjoy working with electrical equipment, drives, and field service activities in the industrial and energy sector

  • You have experience or knowledge in testing, maintenance, or service in electrical environments (inverters, electrical motors, protection systems, power supplies, exciters)

  • You are highly skilled in troubleshooting and problem-solving within industrial electrical systems

  • You are passionate about technical problem solving, teamwork, and delivering high-quality service

  • Degree or technical diploma in Electrical, Electrotechnical (or equivalent experience)

  • You are at ease communicating in Italian and English (both written and spoken)

  • Availability to travel frequently in Italy and abroad
