SUMMARY OF POSITION
This job is resident at the Northrop Grumman facility in Iuka Mississippi. The individual will provide engineering support, integration support, and technical support for tooling and automated assemblies. The individual will be required to perform maintenance on the tooling on site which will include but not limited to, setting details, replacing broken pins, bushings, and bolts, lubricating jack screws and motor bearings, etc. It is the responsibility of the successful candidate to debug, troubleshoot, test, and report out on automation systems in our clients facility. Work includes supporting and troubleshooting PLC SW logic, CNC programming, HMI programming, drive configuration, and any other electromechanical equipment. The individual will be an integral part of the team from integration at Ascent facilities through production support at the customer facility and will be counted on to represent Ascent Aerospace in a professional manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Responsible for mechanical equipment, moving details, automated controls system installation, testing, debug/troubleshooting, commissioning, buy-off, and production support
- Support emergency trouble shooting and repairs
- Provide written summary reports for according to site requirements for documentation
- Conduct and/or support Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) requirements
- Operate and maintain systems while promoting good customer relationships
- Work with other integration engineers to provide after-market feedback on software and hardware issues to prevent issues from re-occurring
- Reviews his/her Program department metrics to ensure accuracy of reporting program performance to management and Customers. Provides recommendations to improve metrics designed to enhance operation efficiencies
REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:
Experience in PLC logic and programming with any of the following PLCs: Allen Bradley or Siemens
Experience in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic/pneumatic principals/processes
Mechanical aptitude
Machining experience and capability
Familiar with manufacturing shop and shop environment
Ability to organize and maintain effective inventory
Proficient in MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Project.
This position must meet Export Control Compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22.C.F.R. is required
Must possess Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment. In addition, the job requires applying for and obtaining a Special Access for specific programs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in a Manufacturing Engineering environment preferred
- Experience with Aerospace Automated Equipment Integration is preferred
- Experience with being hands on and a high level of mechanical intuition preferred

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- This position requires travel up to 10% of the time

- May be required to travel to other site locations during the work day
- May be required to work weekends to meet department and business demands
- Work with safe manufacturing processes and understand that eyewear is mandatory in the manufacturing area.
- Knows that safety shoes are recommended in the manufacturing area
