Engineering Technician - Maint - RLD

Summary/Purpose

Plans, directs, and coordinates technical support for manufacturing equipment. Ability to perform the Essential Duties and Accountabilities will determine classification and grade level of employee as well as education and experience.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities:

  • Support production by troubleshooting breakdown/performance/setup issues assist with developing countermeasures to address root cause.
  • Develop repair and PM procedures for assigned area in conjunction with master trainer.
  • Perform problem solving activities associated with technical equipment and component failure.
  • Provides recommendations and assists in manufacturing equipment rebuilds and retrofit projects.
  • Determine areas/items that need to be tested for improvement purposes.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair manufacturing equipment and process issues.
  • Advanced mechanical and electrical skills.
  • Advanced PLC, HMI and motion control programming/support skills.
  • Ability to interface with all levels in the organization using verbal and written skills.
  • Advanced computer knowledge with the ability to learn new software to further develop skills.
  • Support 5-S and continuous improvements (kaizen) initiatives in the Plant

Education and Experience:

  • A1 Level - Associates degree required in related engineering field and at least 5 years of manufacturing experience
  • Hourly 8 Associates degree preferred in engineering field and at least 5 years of manufacturing experience
  • Hourly 7 Associates degree preferred in engineering field and at least 2 years of manufacturing experience
