The mission of this role
Support Industry 4.0 and factory automation projects, gaining hands-on experience in connecting industrial systems with digital platforms. This role offers exposure to automation, industrial communications, IoT, data analytics and dashboards, while contributing to real operational use cases in manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to Industry 4.0 and industrial automation projects, connecting shopfloor systems (PLCs, SCADA) with digital platforms.
- Support the implementation of industrial communications and IoT solutions (OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT, edge devices and gateways).
- Develop and maintain data integration and automation scripts using Python, SQL and Linux environments.
- Assist in the creation of industrial KPIs, operational dashboards and monitoring systems.
- Collaborate on digital transformation projects, documenting solutions and working with OT, IT and business teams.
Requirements
- Student in Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Technologies, Data or similar.
- Interest in Industry 4.0, automation and smart factories.
- Basic programming skills (preferably Python).
- Interest in industrial systems, data and connectivity.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal (Spanish, Catalan and English).
- Strongly recommended:
- Experience or exposure to IoT and edge computing architectures.
- Strong programming skills, especially Python and Bash.
- Basic knowledge of SQL.
- Familiarity with MES, ERP, SCADA or CMMS systems.
- Communication skills, both written and verbal in French.
