About the opportunity
As Development Technician you will work across our internal model shops which will see you partner closely with Product and Process Development Engineers to support them in rapid prototyping and machine training. We pride ourselves in our relentless pursuit of healthcare innovation and have invested in state-of-the-art facilities where you will work with high end equipment including CNC, CAM and industrial 3D Printing equipment.
This role is suitable for an enthusiastic individual who enjoys hands on technical work and working with a variety of internal stakeholders and has a strong interest in CNC/CAM and/or Mechanical Engineering applications such as rapid prototyping.
Whether you are at the beginning of your career or looking for a change in direction, this role will offer lots of on job training and is a great entry point into an internationally renowned company.
About you
Part of this role involves functional maintenance and support, so we are looking for applicants with technical aptitude who, ideally come from an Engineering or Trades background. What you may lack in specific knowledge can be offset with your ability to pick up new skills quickly.
While not essential, experience with some of the following would be highly advantageous:
- CAD/CAM (Solidworks, CREO, MasterCam)
- 3/4/5 axis CNC mills/lathes
- HAAS machining Centre
- Fanuc Controller knowledge
- Heidenhine Controller knowledge
- Microsoft office skills
- Training content creation
- Designing, machining and moulding prototypes
- Injection moulding and other manufacturing methods
- Medical device regulation
- New product development
