Mars Wrigley-Controls Technician- Elizabethtown, PA
- Pay: Based on experience starting at$36.52/hour +
- This site manufactures DOVE chocolate
Shift Schedule:
- Shift: 1st (Days)
- Schedule: Monday- Friday
- Hours: 6:30am-3pm (flexible pending business needs)
Description of Role:
The Controls Technician is responsible for ensuring efficient and reliable operation of manufacturing and industrial process control equipment and systems. It involves installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining control systems to optimize production processes.
What are we looking for?
MinimumRequirements:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education
- 2+ years experience working with industrial control devices (Ex: pressure sensors, temperature transmitters, flow meters, etc.)
- Knowledge of PLC programming and HMI systems
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, DeviceNet, Ethernet/IP, etc)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and instrumentation schematics.
Physical Requirements:
- Can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs)
- Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping.
- Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, lean over equipment, and operate in confined spaces.
- Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods, with shifts lasting 12 hours
- Capable of working in hot, cold and wet conditions
- Proficient in understanding, communicating, reading, and writing in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical Degree or Certifications
- 4+years experiencewith industrial control devices and systems
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
What will be yourKey Responsibilities?
- Install, configure, and calibrate industrial control devices such as pressure sensors, temperature transmitters, flow meters, and other related instrumentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to control devices and systems to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, maintenance, and engineering to support process improvements.
- Develop and maintain documentation including wiring diagrams, control schematics, and operational manuals.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and reliability.
