Automotive Technician – Autonomous & Electric Vehicle Fleet Location: Austin, Texas
As an Automotive Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring fleet safety, performance, and reliability through preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and field support.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and document vehicle damage following road incidents
- Perform minor on-site repairs and coordinate major repairs with service partners
- Conduct scheduled maintenance and inspections (brakes, fluids, AC, tires, etc.)
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, including EV and ADAS systems
- Monitor vehicle condition and proactively identify potential issues
- Support field operations, including vehicle recovery, towing coordination, and evacuations
- Transport vehicles for service, repairs, inspections, and cleaning
- Maintain fleet, shop, and equipment cleanliness and safety compliance
- Document work completed and follow operational procedures
Work Schedule: Technicians are assigned to one consistent shift:
- 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
- 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM
- Weekend Shift: Saturday–Sunday, 10:00 AM–10:00 PM
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience as an automotive technician or in a similar mechanical role
- Strong understanding of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and mechanical fundamentals
- Knowledge of electric vehicle (EV) systems and technology
- Valid Texas driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
- Comfortable working with advanced autonomous vehicle technology
- Prior experience as an EV Technician
- Experience with ADAS or autonomous vehicle systems
- OEM, dealership, fleet, or mobility company experience
