Automation Technician
Productivity, Inc. is a CNC machine-tool distributor headquartered in Plymouth, Minnesota. In addition to selling CNC metalworking equipment, we design and integrate advanced automation solutions for general and precision machining operationsprimarily using FANUC robotic systems.
Our automation business continues to grow, and were looking for experienced Automation Technicians who enjoy hands-on work, problem-solving, and seeing projects through from build to install.
Compensation & Benefits
- $28.00 $33.00 per hour depending on experience and qualifications

What Youll Do
- Automation cell assembly & troubleshooting Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, mechanical, and software issues. Identify and replace components, test systems, and make adjustments as needed.
- Automation cell installation Install robotic cells and related accessories at customer sites. Perform system setup, robot path adjustments, and final commissioning.
- Robot programming Write and modify teach-pendant programs with proper logic for machine-tending applications.
- Customer support Work directly with customers on-site or by phone to diagnose issues and provide timely follow-up.
- Automation projects Program, complete, prove-out, and deliver automation solutions based on customer requirements.
- Safety & documentation Follow all safety requirements, maintain a clean work area, and complete required paperwork and system documentation accurately and on time.
- Participate in ongoing technical training and perform other duties as needed.
What Were Looking For
- 1+ year of experience in an Automation Technician or similar role
- Degree or certificate in Automation Technology, Robotics, Mechatronics, Automated Machinery Systems, or a related field
- Experience with FANUC robots preferred
- Knowledge of ROBOGUIDE, FANUC teach pendant programming, HandlingTool, and iRVision is a plus
- Strong understanding of electrical circuitry, mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and diagrams
- Proficiency using hand and power tools
- Ability to safely perform electrical wiring and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with robot integration and machine-vision applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a project-based team
- Valid drivers license and acceptable motor vehicle record
- Willingness to work occasional overtime and overnight travel (~20%)
