About this Job
Perform scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance to equipment
Create, update and backup automations programs including PLC, Servo Drives, HMI’s and Robot’s
Connect to PLC, Servo Drive. VFD and Robot Controllers to determine root cause of failures
Install and set-up various visions system components such as bar code scanners and inspection camera’s
Update electrical drawings when changes are made to originals
Participate in new program launches performing necessary changes to automation
Support maintenance personnel in trouble shooting and repairing automation failures
Trouble shoot and repair failures utilizing machine drawings and schematics
Participate in equipment/automation training when required
Perform tasks while observing Dana’s Health and Safety Policy’s & Procedures
Perform tasks while observing Dana’s quality requirements
Work closely with on-shift production supervision to resolve downtime issues
Escalate automation concerns to Maintenance Manager when required
Perform work on assigned shift
Participate in overtime activities when required
Job Purpose
The Controls Engineer supports the design, development, and implementation of control systems that automate industrial processes and machinery. This role assists in programming, testing, and troubleshooting hardware and software components such as PLCs, HMIs, and sensors.

Education and Qualifications
- Technical degree or diploma
- 1-2 years experience
